Barn Swallow Brings the Night

A sister painting to Joy to Our World I created this painting from my inspiration found in the process. Just as our days are brought to peace by the night I felt that my first painting Joy to Our World with its triumphant brilliance needed a resting place. In this painting I work with soft hues of blue and silver to echo the cool tint of the evening. In the country we enjoy watching the many barn swallows dive bomb the bugs as dusk sets in. I love watching their shape become silhouetted as the intensity in the sky dims. As a sister painting I included a similar composition with snapshots of worldly landscapes, however this time I enjoyed keeping the colors subdued.
